Developer plans 210,000-square-foot addition to Novi corporate park

Northern Equities Group is planning a 210,000-square-foot addition of Class A office space to the 99 percent occupied Haggerty Corridor Corporate Park in Novi.

The Farmington Hills-based real estate developer has site plans approved for the new four-story building, which would sit on 14 acres off Cabot Drive between 13 Mile and 14 Mile roads. The developer is in talks with several potential tenants and will begin construction once an agreement is in place, said Ed Wujek, senior vice president of CBRE Group, which is marketing the property.

He declined to name the potential tenants.

General building plans have been finalized, with Southfield-based Faudie Architecture drawing up the blueprint. Each floor will be a minimum of 52,741 square feet, with interior design depending on tenant needs. It could be 100 percent office space, or it could have a lab or engineering component, Wujek said.

Matthew Sosin, president of Northern Equities, said his company will make the decision in the coming days whether to start construction this year or wait until the spring. It would take about 12 months to complete after breaking ground.

A general contractor has not yet been selected.
