Founded in 1979, Northern Equity Group’s primary focus is the development, construction and management of office buildings, research facilities, industrial buildings, multi-family apartments and land development. NEIL J. SOSIN
Chief Executive Officer
As founder of Northern Equities Group, Neil has influenced the growth of metropolitan Detroit’s office park landscape, having spearheaded many local real estate development projects throughout the years. Prior to founding the firm in 1979, Neil was previously associated with Coopers & Lybrand where he directed the Detroit Group Real Estate Practice and served as a Director of the Coopers & Lybrand National Real Estate Investment Board. A member of the State Bar of Michigan and is a Certified Public Accountant.
MATTHEW S. SOSIN
President
Matthew leads the team of 20 professionals at Northern Equities Group, overseeing the company’s versatile real estate portfolio and investment opportunities. Prior to joining Northern Equities Group in 2001, Matthew was an associate in the Real Estate Department of Willkie Farr & Gallagher, a leading law firm located in Manhattan, New York. Matt holds a Bachelor of Arts in History and a Juris Doctor, both from the University of Michigan. He is a member of the State Bar of New York and is a licensed builder. Matthew also co-founded a national mini storage company and often invests in early stage Michigan-based technology companies.
BRIAN J. HUGHES
Senior Vice President, LEED AP BD+C
Brian heads up Northern Equities Group’s Facilities Management team, and also leads project management for both new construction and renovations.
In 2013, Brian became a LEED AP BD + C, which is a credential signifying an individual as a leader and an active participant in the green building movement. Brian contributes expertise to the design, construction, operations and maintenance of buildings that save energy, use fewer resources, reduce pollution, and contribute to healthier environments for their occupants and the community. Brian joined Northern Equities Group in 1992, and is a graduate of Hope College with a Bachelor of Science degree in Political Science and Business Administration.
MARNA M. TARDUCCI
Director - Special Projects and Tax Matters
Marna leads the Northern Equities Group tax planning and structuring department. Prior to joining the company in 2000, Marna worked 10 years for Plante Moran as a CPA with a specialization in real estate. Marna graduated from Western Michigan University as the Department of Accountancy’s Presidential Scholar with a Bachelors of Business Administration in Accountancy and a minor in Finance.
AMY E. BERRY
Controller, CPA
Amy is the Controller of Northern Equities Group, heading up the firm’s accounting department. Since 2011, she has been a key member of the company’s accounting group, serving as both the Assistant Controller and Accounting Manager. Prior to joining Northern Equities Group, Amy obtained her CPA license and worked in public accounting. Amy graduated with high honors from Olivet Nazarene University with a triple major in Accounting, Economics/Finance and Business Administration.

Our business parks uniquely offer an oasis of nature near your Class A office space. Great blue herons, cranes, and a variety of wild flowers, including peonies and lupines, are a sample of the many species that have found a home in the Haggerty Corridor Corporate Park. Over the years, Northern Equities Group has reserved over 20 acres of pristine woodlands and wetlands as a part of its dedication to the environment, spending a sizeable budget to preserve and enhance these important natural habitats.
